PerfectI love this backpack. It fits more the the project on my hook. I use it to travel with. I put my kindle in the front pocket. Love all the pockets on the inside also. I would buy againGreat for all my projects and has so much room! I love that it stays open without me having to adjust it a thousand times. Only downside is whenever I put it on the straps slide to be all the way down and I have to fix it every time. Other than that it’s a great bag.Bought this for my daughter's birthday and she absolutely loves it! Already organized her crocheting supplies and the design is absolutely perfect! She can even being working on a crocheting project while out and about...with access from the outside! Could not be more pleased!This is a really nice backpack. It has plenty of space inside. I am able to fit anywhere from 8 to 10 regular skeins of yarn and a project into this bag. The zipper and material protect your projects and balls from pets and general debris you don't want on your hands while you're crafting. I can't speak for knitting but for crochet this bag rocks.
