It's as heavy as one would expect a chunky afghan this large to be. There is nothing adding weight to it but the chunky yarn. No weighted beads of any type. Quality is great and it is soft as a cloud. If you want a well-made, cloud-soft, chenille throw, this is great. If you are looking for a weighted blanket, keep looking.This blanket was SUPER soft! Decent weight to it (not weighted) but the braids are way too far apart making large holes which is super annoyingLoved how this was packaged and vacuum sealed. When I took off the zipped turquoise dust cover however, I was thinking, "Wow, this isn't really orange or burnt orange", which is what I imagined from the online item pics. I began to slightly open the vacuum bag and with the lighting in my room (20 inches of recent snowfall), as the blanket expanded, the color reflected even more white light--it's more like a creamy-creamsicle color than the brilliant orange I was hoping for. I purchased this blanket to match my cedar-orange cabin walls. It is very soft, well packaged and I'm sure others will enjoy it but it's not for me. I'm returning it.The open knit let air circulating Thru it. It’s amazing how it holds in heat yet breaths you can actually play with yourself Thru the blanket if you sleep in the nudeMy son uses a weighted blanket to fall asleep. He has extreme anxiety. He has used a duvet style blanket in the past, but they are hard to get situated and bunch up. This one is a lot better and has the same weight. I think it will also be cooler in the summer, since it has an open weave, but that remains to be seen. Overall, it is equal to the duvet style weighted blanket in most ways, but superior in ease of use.I love the look and touch of this blanket; however, it doesn't really give me that weighted feel that I want. You can't really feel the weight on you when you use it. And the worst part about the knit design is you have to have another blanket on you before you use it otherwise you'll get cold and your toes will poke through. We have to buy another now to stop the arguments over who gets to use it!I have a chronic pain condition, caused by a rare nerve disease. This condition hasn’t allowed me to sleep much at all in the last 7 years. Last night, which was my second night with the blanket, I had the most efficient sleep I have had in years!! Out of the 2.75 hours of sleep I got, 97% of it was deep, restful sleep! At first the blanket felt a bit awkward, even a bit strange. But now, it is the most comfortable, safe feeling I could ever imagine going to sleep under. Even though I only slept less than 3 hours, this morning I still feel rested and have more energy than I have had in a very long time. This blanket has been a godsend for me, as well as for the people around me since I’m less irritatable, calmer, less cranky and just all around more pleasant in the morning than I ever thought possible!! To whomever invented these blankets, you sir or madam are my hero!When it first came it had fluffing mess everywhere but I immediately put it in the washing machine on hand wash cycle and I dried it twice( over dried) and it’s perfect. It does say to hand wash and hang to dry but that’s ridiculous- it would be way to heavy and the yarn would stretch and ruin when hung. Very heavy and looks exactly like the bernat blanket yarn I have. Overall very happy .I bought the grey blanket and I am very happy with my purchase! It is a little bit heavy, but still lightweight enough to cuddle into whether in bed or on the couch. I did not experience any shedding at all with this blanket. I too popped it into the washer on cold and delicate to dry. It came out super duper soft! My husband and my dog love it too and we all fit in it when we snuggle on the couch. Worth every penny!This blanket is super soft, looks great and has some nice weight to the blanket. Came in a vacuumed sealed bag. No smell to the blanket , fluffed up nicely.It’s heavy and soft but it’s easy to tangled up because it’s a very loose knit and the fabric stretches. Not easy to fold but covers a large area and is warm and heavy.
